Stash Organizing!  I spent the morning organizing my stash, and adding new moth sachets.  I even made a diagram of where different fibers/yarns are kept.  Now we can sit on the futon again!   Next step, wash all the raw fleece in the garage (that will take a little longer).

New sockyarn!  Blended corriedale wool - blue, purple, turquoise, and a little red and purple mohair.

Scapes! Garlic scapes are finally here.  I plan to cut them, then toss them with a little soy sauce and olive oil and grill them for a minute.  Yummm, my favorite!

Finally finished the Vorticity (Socktopus) socks!  I spun the yarn months ago.  There is a lot of mohair blended with the wool, so they are very silky.  Now I will put them away to be ready to wear next winter.

Garden growing great in my new raised beds.  Broccoli almost ready to pick.  Arugula, lettuces, and peas in back.  I have more lettuce than we can eat!  I love May!

Sweetie, a corriedale sheep has fleece that is great for socks!  I was given a fleece from her, and have been dyeing and blending for more sock yarn.  I washed and dyed the fleece, then carded batts of each color.  Now am looking at color combinations with bits of dyed mohair that I bought at Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival last week.  I want enough mohair to give some extra strength to my socks, and add bits of extra color.

wickedclothes:

There’s already a Change.org petition against the passing of Amendment One, which banned same-sex marriage, civil unions, and domestic partnerships in North Carolina. These things actually tend to be pretty damn effective.

Let’s see what the power of Tumblr can do! I know there’s at least a million Tumblr users who are against this sort of harmful discrimination and bigotry.

Sign the petition and reblog to spread the word, please!

Maryland Sheep and Wool!! We had a great time, looking, touching, shopping, eating.  So many wonderful fibers, people and sheep.  This year I was shopping for colors and came home with a bag full of beautiful mohair, BFL, Coopworth, Silk, bamboo and more.  I am looking forward to carding and spinning.
